Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to Kyrifix products, including Journal (iOS), Caption (macOS), and Dictionary (macOS). It explains how we handle your information when you use our apps.

1. Information We Collect

  • Content you create: Notes, journals, and other content are stored locally on your device.
  • Subscriptions and purchases: Billing-related records are handled by the billing channel you use: Apple App Store for Journal (iOS), and Creem web checkout for Caption/Dictionary (macOS).
  • Permissions: We request permissions only when a feature needs them (such as notifications, photos, microphone, reminders, or Health on iOS/watchOS). You can deny or revoke permissions in system settings.
  • AI features: If you use AI features, the content you submit is sent to third-party AI providers to generate results. We do not store AI inputs or outputs on our servers.

2. Storage, Backup, and Deletion

  • By default, your content is stored locally on your device.
  • Backups are managed by Apple device or iCloud backups when enabled.
  • You can delete your data by removing the app or using in-app deletion tools where available.

3. Health Data (iOS/watchOS)

If you enable HealthKit-related features, health data is processed locally on your device. We do not use HealthKit data for advertising or sell it.

4. Third-Party Services

AI features require third-party AI providers to process your input. Their handling of your data is governed by their own policies. If you do not want your data processed by AI providers, do not use AI features.

For Creem web checkout, Creem processes payment and billing-related personal data as Merchant of Record. Subscription management can be completed through the Customer Portal link in your receipt email.

5. Children’s Privacy

Our products are not intended for children under 13 (or the age defined by your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us.

6. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the effective date and provide notice in the app when appropriate.
