Add a Title or Label to a Video and Export It
Add a text layer above the clip, set its words, style and duration, then export a video that shows the text at the intended time. This guide covers titles and labels.
Add and time the text
In iMovie, open Titles, choose a style and drag it above the target clip. Double-click the placeholder text and type your words. Use the controls available for that style to adjust font, size and color, and adjust the title clip’s duration. Clipchamp also provides text layers with timeline controls.
Export the video file
Preview the title before export, then in iMovie choose Share → File, set the file options, choose Next, name it and select a save location. Text appearance follows the chosen title style; select a different style if the current one lacks the placement or controls you need.

Check before, during and after
Open the exported file in a separate player. Check just before the text starts, during its display and just after it ends. Confirm the wording, contrast, duration and visibility on your target screen. Change the layer or style and export again if it covers the subject. Dialogue subtitle generation and SRT burn-in have their own related guide.
